FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Ballydehob Jazz Festival 2012
May Bank Holiday Weekend
Friday 4th May – Monday 7th May 2012

Ballydehob Jazz Festival is proud to announce the line-up for its 2012 village event. Thirteen acts will feature across the programme with Camille O’Sullivan, widely acclaimed for her unique style, and Paddy Cole, long time Ireland favourite, performing in headline concerts on Friday 4th and Saturday 5th May.

Our boutique festival is an important part of the Irish music event calendar. Created in the legendary West Cork village of Ballydehob in 2007, it has demonstrated a strong commitment to excellence by showcasing the best jazz artists available from Ireland and abroad. Last year the festival employed over 60 artists and technicians to pull off a remarkable 3-day-event. Our roster of talent can match any other jazz festival in Ireland.

Most events are free of charge. Concerts are held not only in our many pubs but also creatively presented in cafes, schools and street stages. The Ballydehob Community Hall is transformed into an intimate jazz club for headline concerts and the popular Festival Club.

Outdoor activities also include childrens entertainment, street theatre, busking competitions and a market traders fair, all adding to the carnival spirit.

Our programme launch event is scheduled for Thursday 12th April at Woodford Bar, Cork. This event will include music, food and drink… and perhaps a few words by our patrons and sponsors!
