We have a great line-up for 2012 and we’re very proud to announce the following headline acts:

***   PADDY COLE    ***

SATURDAY MAY 5th, Evening, time tbc (Community Hall)

Known as Irelands King of Jazz, Paddy Cole first entered the world of showbiz at the tender age of 9. He spent his formative years entertaining audiences throughout Ireland and the UK until the emerging Showband craze caught up with him. The newly formed ‘Capitol Showband’ had decided to create an ‘All Ireland’ appeal by having members from all over the country and Paddy was one of the lucky few to be invited to join the band as their saxophone and clarinet player. They became an overnight success.

Subsequently Paddy was given the opportunity to join other Showband stars to form a new band called ‘The Big 8.’ The band concentrated on the bright lights of Las Vegas where they lived and performed for 7 months of each year. But after several very successful years playing to sell out crowds on the ‘Strip’ Paddy decided that he wanted to return to life in Ireland.

‘The Paddy Cole Superstars’ was born.

Paddy continued to perform with the group for a few years before splitting with the band. After a 12 year break he eventually found himself back performing, and returned to the limelight where he has remained as one of the country’s top entertainers to this day.

***   CAMILLE O SULLIVAN    ***

SUNDAY MAY 6th, Evening, time tbc (Community Hall)

When she sings it’s as though her breath is soaked in paraffin; one spark, and the whole room would ignite
Daily Telegraph

A courageous and singular performer, Camille is one of the most gifted interpreters of narrative songs yet to appear
The Irish Times

Born in London of a French mother and Irish father, Camille moved to Cork, Ireland when she was a child.

Self taught as a singer with a background in acting, it was whilst living in Berlin, she became intrigued by the narrative direct music of Weimar composers Eisler, Hollaender and Weill. On her return home she was inspired by the late great Agnes Bernelle performances back in Dublin’s now defunct Da Club where O’Sullivan had also started to sing.

As much storyteller as singer, Camille has a respected international reputation for her interpretations of the songs of Jacques Brel, Nick Cave, Tom Waits, Kurt Weill and shows a fearlessness in her work with her emotional intense performances. Chameleon like on stage, each song has a different character with its own story to tell and emotion to inhabit.
